11Prayer & Meditation: Building Blocks to a Fruitful Relationship with God
As a part of my spiritual rebirth, I have incorporated morning prayer and meditation to my schedule. Having both are crucial in building a successful relationship with God.
It is important that we speak to God about everything. He is our Father; He wants to hear from us. Just as you communicate with your earthly parents so should you always acknowledge, address, and “amen” God!
However, speaking is only one aspect. To have a conversation with God, you must listen as well. Meditation is more than learning to control your breathing and reducing stress; you are opening your mind, heart, and spirit to receive the wisdom of God. What’s the point in praying if you’re not going to listen for the answer?
It does not take much to build a relationship with God. He wants to be close to all of us. Therefore, He made Himself easily accessible. God wants to be as close to us as we will let Him. If you want God in your life then open yourself to receive Him. Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is the son of God who died as payment for our sins who rose again to defeat death for us. Be obedient to the Wisdom and Truth of God, which is His Word. Prayer and meditate daily to stay in constant communication with our Heavenly Father.
My Pastor always says “if you don’t feel close to God then guess who moved?” God is not going anywhere and it is NEVER too late to build a relationship with Him. Remember, He’s always there; He’s waiting on you.
Affirmation
I will move closer to God through faith in Christ and obedience to His Word with due diligence and all sincerity of heart.
God requires us to do nothing more than believe. He will move mountains, seas, and skies only if we believe.
